Explore future careers while developing your English
Career Discovery is a two-week English-language programme for students who are curious about the world of work but are not yet ready to specialise. Through career-themed simulations and challenges, students encounter fields including medicine, finance, business, computing, AI and engineering.
English is developed throughout as students discuss problems, work in teams, ask questions and present ideas. Delivered in partnership with InvestIN, the programme introduces students to different professional fields in an age-appropriate and exploratory way.

What you'll explore
Discover different worlds of work
Students encounter a range of professional fields through accessible simulations, case studies and challenges. The emphasis is on exploration, communication and problem-solving rather than specialist professional training.

Explore some of the questions, communication skills and decisions associated with medicine and healthcare through age-appropriate scenarios and collaborative activities.

Business, Finance & Enterprise
Consider how organisations make decisions, respond to customers and think about money. Students work through business-themed challenges while developing useful vocabulary and presentation skills.

Technology, AI & Engineering
Explore how technology and engineering can be used to respond to problems, including accessible themes connected with computing, artificial intelligence, design and innovation.

At Time to Shine, students bring together what they have explored and present an idea, response or recommendation, using English to communicate their thinking clearly to an audience.

Live and learn at Dulwich College
SBC at Dulwich College sits on a grand, green campus in south London — a historic school setting with the whole of the capital close by. Students live and learn on the college grounds, then travel out with their groups to explore London as part of the programme. Back on campus, students stay in modern, well-kept boarding rooms — a shared room, or a single room with en-suite bathroom, chosen at booking. Common rooms, laundry and all meals are on site, with residential staff living alongside the students, so everything they need is in one place.

A minimum level of B1+ is required to enrol onto this programme.
All residential staff are DBS-checked and trained, with 24/7 pastoral care and British Council–accredited safeguarding procedures.
No. This is a Summer Boarding Courses programme. We use the facilities at Dulwich College so students can learn in an inspiring school setting, but the course is designed and delivered by Summer Boarding Courses. Summer Boarding Courses contracts the use of these facilities and has no formal connection with Dulwich College, and the school does not deliver, partner in, or endorse our programmes.
