Summer Boarding Courses’ International Relations programmes challenge students to think about key global issues that shape today’s political world. Our International Relations students analyse real-life political models and learn about key contemporary issues that influence modern diplomatic relations. Through the study of contemporary and historical case studies, students are also encouraged to develop key research and debating skills.

Learning English Through International Relations
Summer Boarding Courses’ International Relations programmes are designed to teach the English language through studying International Relations. In these courses, English language and International Relations tuition are integrated together, so that knowledge of both subjects is improved at the same time.
Our International Relations programmes have the following four objectives:
- Content: Improving the knowledge of International Relations
- Communication: Studying through a communicative and collaborative approach to learning, with the aim of improving English language proficiency
- Cognition: All courses at SBC focus on developing 21st Century Skills, such as critical thinking skills, collaborative skills and presentation skills
- Culture: All courses include the cross-cultural benefits of studying in a multi-national environment
Time to Shine
Summer Boarding Courses International Relations programmes have the theme of conflict resolution as the basis of their Time to Shine projects. This theme will help assist students in developing effective presentation and diplomacy skills. During the Time to Shine projects, students will take on the roles of diplomats in a model United Nations congress, performed in front of an audience.
