Explore global affairs while developing your English
Global Leadership is a two-week English-language programme for students interested in politics, economics and international relations. Through selected themes from government, markets, diplomacy and global affairs, students develop subject vocabulary while practising speaking, listening, reading and presentation skills.
Learning combines discussion, accessible case studies, source analysis and collaborative decision-making. Students compare perspectives, interpret information and consider different responses to political, economic and international questions.

What you'll study
Politics, economics and international relations
Students explore selected global themes while developing the English needed to discuss political choices, interpret economic information, compare perspectives and communicate reasoned recommendations.

Politics, Government & Society
Explore selected ideas connected with government, political institutions, representation and public decision-making. Students develop the language needed to compare choices, discuss competing priorities and explain possible consequences.

Economics, Markets & Policy
Explore accessible economic ideas such as markets, incentives, supply and demand, trade and public spending. Students consider how economic choices can affect businesses, governments and individuals while practising interpretation and discussion in English.

Module 03
International Relations & Global Challenges
Consider how countries and international organisations respond to cooperation, disagreement and shared global questions. Students compare different interests and perspectives and practise communicating possible responses clearly.
The signature experience
Analyse. Debate. Decide.
Throughout the programme, students work collaboratively on a political, economic or international question or scenario. They examine relevant information, compare different viewpoints and consider possible responses before developing a reasoned position.
At Time to Shine, students present their recommendations or conclusions to peers and staff, bringing together global affairs, teamwork and English-language communication.

All workshop and project resources are provided. Students can choose to bring standard study items such as pens, notebooks, and a laptop or tablet for project work.

The course offers a level of challenge, but tutors can vary the degree of difficulty depending on the group’s overall proficiency.
Participants should have a level of B1 to gain the maximum benefit from the course.
All residential staff are DBS-checked and trained, with a high staff-to-student ratio and 24/7 pastoral support.
