Think Global! at Earlscliffe
Earlscliffe | Ages 13 – 17
This course drives language development by encouraging its learners to adopt “the values, attitudes and behaviours that support responsible global citizenship” (UNESCO)
Think Global! is designed not only to maximise a student’s language development but to do this through using UNESCO’s ‘Four pillars of learning’: learning to know; learning to do; learning to be and learning to live together.
By investigating and discussing global themes using various methods, students improve all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), their critical thinking skills and indeed both their independent and collaborative learning.
The global themes will excite and extend all abilities, from Glastonbury, climate change and the rights of child refugees to blogging, healthy lifestyles and fashion.
Earlscliffe’s Think Global! programme is truly ‘global’ in all senses of the word.
Students will develop skills through a series of skills-based workshops, lectures, independent learning, and study tours. During the course, students will construct an academic essay on a topic of the student’s choice to put into practice the skills that they have developed.
Global English takes place at Earlscliffe (Ages 13 – 17). To find out more about our Earlscliffe campus including accommodation, activities, excursions, and prices and dates visit our campus page.
