General English at Headington Oxford
Headington Oxford | Ages 13 – 16
This engaging and challenging course develops our students’ understanding of the English language through creative, student-centred lessons. The General English syllabus uses a combination of carefully selected coursebooks and unique Time to Shine materials, which have been designed especially for 13 to 16-year-old learners by our academic team. Classes are multinational, and our focus on communication and collaboration helps students to build their confidence in using English in everyday life.
Students will develop their understanding of English vocabulary and grammar, as well as pronunciation, reading, writing and listening, during dynamic and communicative lessons. Through a series of creative class activities, collaborative tasks and weekly class projects, students will also learn how to work effectively together and apply their English in real-world situations.
We strongly believe that students respond best to an environment that enables them to produce, practice and create in English. We therefore provide a student-centred environment in the classroom and, through being communicative, students can develop their confidence in using English in meaningful situations.
