They blend an enriching English learning experience with an action-packed activity programme.
English Language Lessons - Summer Day Camps
Students study English in two focused 50-minute lessons each day, grouped by level from beginner to advanced. Classes are capped at 12 students, so teachers can give individual attention and adapt lessons to each child’s needs.
Lessons are built around lively themes, from city life to History Week, and follow a communicative approach that puts speaking first. Students practise real, usable English through conversation, problem-solving and everyday scenarios, building confidence quickly and naturally.
Learning is hands-on and varied. Lessons include games, creative projects, group tasks, simple experiments, outdoor activities and short presentations, keeping students engaged and involved throughout.
After lessons, students move straight into their chosen activity programme, where they mix with local English-speaking children and put their language skills into practice in real situations.
40+ Engaging Activities!
Every week, children will enjoy an exciting and unrivalled programme of activities. With over 40 different activities on offer, the programme has something for everyone, from art and creative sessions, to sport and adventure.

8-9 Years
Once children reach the age of 8, additional activities such as archery and zorbing are available. . We also get all children in this age group together for our popular ‘Big Game’ sessions.
10-12 Years
Whether it’s zorbing and fencing, or swimming and archery, day camps offer awesome activities for 10-14 year olds to try. Team work and socialising is also an important factor to this age group, so our ‘Wide Game’ sessions bring all the children together where they can mix and enjoy larger team building activities.
Our camps are convenient for parents no matter what your plans are whilst in the UK. They are open Monday to Friday with activities from 09:30 to 16:30, however parents can drop off from 08:30 and collect until 17.15 at no extra cost.

We do not offer transfers for our Day Camps, as they are non-residential, and children are usually travelling with their parents. However, if you require any assistance at all with locating a suitable train/coach/taxi to get you from the airport to your chosen accommodation, we would be happy to support in finding you the best solution.
Our camps are non-residential (i.e. no accommodation) therefore you would be required to drop your child off in the morning and collect in the evening.

Children join the full Day Camp with local British children, and staff actively support integration.
Groupings in activities are made by age, and in lessons by English level. It is not always possible to put siblings together.
Staff are trained to support settling-in, confidence, and friendship-building.
Indoor alternatives are always ready. We know you can’t always trust the weather in the UK in summer!
Yes. The majority of children your child meets at camp will be local British children.
Ultimate English students join the main Day Camps run by Ultimate Activity Camps, where most participants are UK-based families.
English classes are grouped by level, not by nationality.
This means that:
- If several children of the same nationality (e.g., Turkish, Italian, Korean) have a similar English level, they will likely be placed together.
- This supports their learning best, even though it may reduce nationality diversity within the classroom.
Teachers still ensure English-only communication and design lessons that encourage collaboration with all classmates.
This is normal and depends on when families travel.
Early summer weeks (late June–mid July) sometimes have more international students because UK schools are still in term time. Similarly, some international markets book in large family or friendship groups, which can temporarily increase a single nationality. In rare cases at some sites, especially early in the season, a class may have very high numbers of one nationality.
Our teachers are trained to manage exactly this situation.
They use:
- pair and group rotations
- structured speaking games
- English-only rules
- collaborative projects
- language frames and prompts
- mixed-ability groupings during activities
Children also spend the majority of the day (outside the classroom) integrated with British children in activities.
Generally, late July and throughout August see the highest numbers of British children, because all UK schools have finished for summer.
Our Admissions Team is always happy to provide guidance on typical patterns from previous years.
At Camp, students are supervised in activities by UAC activity instructors.
To book, we will ask for your name, contact details including two telephone numbers, and a UK address. The UK address can be a temporarily residence, such as a hotel, so long as it is the most up to date UK address for your child for safety reasons. We will also ask for your child’s details including their name, date of birth, school name, and any special needs or medical conditions we should be aware of on camp.
When you book, you’ll be taken to our partner’s website, Ultimate Activity Camps to process your booking and make payment. We accept credit/debit cards and bank transfers. To ensure the safety of children on camp, we require that all children attending our Ultimate English programme understand basic instructions in English and can communicate about their basic needs and welfare. We reserve the right to refuse access to our programmes if our Operations team think a child’s safety or welfare is compromised by their English language skills. Children can join the full activity programme (without English lessons) if they have at least an upper intermediate level of spoken English.
There are some routes to our schools in London and Oxford using public transportation. We are happy to help discuss this with you if you need assistance. In our 7-day reminder email before camp, we also include specific directions to our sign-in area at each camp location.
Ultimate English camps are for children aged 6 to 12 years. Our activity programme is tailored to each age group and children are also grouped by age to ensure they get the appropriate level of instruction and care and make new friends of a similar age.
Ultimate Activity Camps staff are chosen for their experience, qualifications, attitude and passion for working with children. Their managers are either experienced coaches, managers or teachers and are selected for their leadership skills. Camp teams are comprised of Lifeguards, Sports Coaches, Art specialists and Early Years specialists to ensure we have the right balance of skills to provide the best quality instruction.
Our English instructors are hand-picked for their ability to deliver inspirational and enriching programmes, supporting your child in achieving their individual learning goals and ensuring they have an exceptional experience. All of our staff are selected through a rigorous recruitment process. We conduct Enhanced DBS checks and references on all our staff, and they are all put through our Ultimate training programme. All this means you can be confident that your child is in the best possible hands.
Friends or family members that have been authorised by you to collect your child from camp are able to collect. We ask that all parents/ family members collecting children bring the unique booking ID number (which can be found in your booking confirmation) when collecting, in order to confirm that they are authorised to collect.
This depends on the age of the children for activities:
6 – 7 year olds are in groups of 14 maximum with 1 instructor for activities
8+ year olds are in groups of 16 maximum with 1 instructor for activities
All English lessons are taught in groups of 12 maximum with 1 instructor.
Students will take part in 2x 50-minute lessons per day. Our Ultimate English course is designed to improve English vocabulary, grammar, and conversation skills. The lessons are themed around exciting topics such as space exploration, time travel, and storytelling.
Our lessons incorporate a range of activities that make learning enjoyable and engaging. These activities involve games, creative crafts, group projects, experiments, outdoor adventures, and presentations, providing students with opportunities to collaborate and express themselves. We aim to nurture confident English speakers who develop a passion for learning the language.
The course emphasises real-life communication through a communicative approach and boosts students’ confidence by giving them opportunities to present their work and ideas.
All students will receive a report at the end of the course, celebrating their achievements and supporting with areas for future focus. You can also speak with your child’s English instructor at drop off.
Children should come to Camp ready for an active day. We recommend comfortable, sporty clothes (i.e. tracksuit bottoms and trainers) and a sweatshirt/jacket for outdoor activities. We cannot be responsible for damage to any clothes so please do not send children in their best. We require children to be in long sleeves and trousers with covered toe shoes for motor quads. Please ensure clothing is clearly labelled in case any items should be mislaid.
– Children should bring a healthy packed lunch with morning and afternoon snacks especially if you are dropping your child off early or picking them up late, this should include an ice block as we do not have facilities to refrigerate food. Please be aware that children on camp may have nut allergies – please avoid nuts and nut products in your child’s packed lunch.
– Refillable water bottle that the children can take out with them throughout the day (we supply drinking water for them to fill their bottles).
– Where swimming is available, bring swimming kit (including a towel) every day in case swimming is timetabled for your child. We will supply all swimming aids, (armbands and floats), however if your child has specific swimming aids that they are used to they are welcome to bring those with them – clearly marked with their name.
– Please also pack sun cream for your child, preferably applying it before they arrive on Camp, although we cannot apply sun cream directly to your child, we will remind them throughout the day to re-apply. We also recommend bringing a cap or sunhat during hot weather.
– Please write your child’s name onto any personal item that they bring to Camp. This is so that we can make sure all personal items are returned.
– Money is not required on Camp
– Please do not bring portable electronic devices (e.g. Mobile Phones, iPads, Nintendo Switch, etc.). They will not be needed on Camp and we cannot be held responsible for anything going missing or being damaged.
Did you know?
All our residential courses can be offered without overnight accommodation, i.e. ‘non-residential’. This means that you can choose to drop-off and collect your child each day of the course, rather than sleeping at the school. This is ideal for those that wish to stay with their children overnight, or for those that live locally. The programme for non-residential students starts at approximately 08:30 and includes lessons and activities, with the children finishing after the evening activity around 20:00.
Your child will still benefit from the same fantastic academic and social opportunities that our summer courses have to offer!
