Future Business Leaders programme is designed to inspire the next generation of business leaders. By providing students with a comprehensive insight into the key concepts of international business, our young learners are able to gain a fantastic headstart in their preparation for a successful career in business.

Course Objectives
Over the course of this two-week programme, you will:
- Discover discover the fundamentals of starting up and operating a business in today’s society
- Learn how businesses market and brand their products, applying this to your own ideas in a Time To Shine project
- Identify how business finances work so that businesses can break even and make a profit
- Take part in our exciting Time to Shine ceremony, and pitch the idea for a start-up business with your classmates to the rest of the school
- Develop and apply core 21st century skills through fun and engaging lessons, including critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration
Course Modules
Module 1: Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Innovation
In this module, you’ll discover what it takes to be an entrepreneur. You’ll explore the process of turning innovative ideas into successful business ventures, from brainstorming concepts to developing business plans. Through interactive activities and case studies, you’ll begin to understand the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship, and start thinking about your own business ideas.
Module 2: Leadership Skills and Decision Making
This module focuses on developing the essential skills needed to be an effective leader. You’ll learn about different leadership styles, the importance of ethical decision-making, and how to inspire and motivate others. Practical exercises and group activities will help you build confidence in your leadership abilities, while real-world scenarios will challenge you to think ethically and strategically.
Module 3: Social Impact and Community Building
In the final module, you’ll explore how leaders can make a positive impact on their communities and the world. You’ll learn about social entrepreneurship, the importance of civic engagement, and how to design and implement projects that address social and environmental challenges. By working on a community-based project, you’ll gain hands-on experience in creating change and learn how to lead initiatives that make a real difference.
Time to Shine Project
Pitch Perfect: How to Make a Successful Business Pitch
Headington’s Future Business Leaders will take part in an exciting two week project in which they devise and develop all aspects of a start-up business, including the branding, financial planning, marketing and operational structure. They will then pitch this start-up business to a panel of investors, who will choose the most credible and inspirational business to apply their funding to.
Through this fun and engaging teamwork project, Headington’s Future Business Leaders will develop and apply their 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, communication skills, collaborative skills, and original thinking.

Opportunities to apply and share this knowledge through dynamic ‘Time To Shine’ group projects, culminating in an end-of-the-week ceremony in which you can present your innovative ideas to your peers.

Numerous opportunities throughout your academic program to develop your English language skills, whether that’s building vocabulary to talk about your subject, or developing your speaking skills to present your Time To Shine project.

Social Programme
Students will immerse themselves in exciting multi-activities, including football, basketball, tennis, arts and crafts, and specialist activities like off-site bowling, talent shows, capture the flag and secret cinema, exploring their passions and building lasting friendships.

Embark on excursions designed to ignite adventure and curiosity. Showcasing the best of UK culture that will broaden their horizons and create lasting memories including; Thorpe Park, London and Oxford.

How challenging is the course?
The course input will challenge students at B1 level, however within language teaching it is commonplace for teachers to work with mixed ability classes. Depending on the group’s competency with English and ability to absorb new material, our teachers can adapt to make the lessons inclusive for all.
What level of English is required to take part in this course?
For this course, a level of B1 and above is recommended to help ensure that students make the most of the programme.
Do students receive a certificate?
Yes. Each student who completes this programme receives a certificate of completion during a celebration at the end of the course.
Do students need to purchase any course books?
Students aren’t required to purchase any textbooks for the course, instead a variety of SBC handouts are purposefully made, all of which were created by our own academic team.
What do students need to take to class?
Students should bring their own stationary, but they are provided with notebooks and folders.
