Over the course of this two-week programme, you will:
Be introduced to key business concepts and terminology, focusing on a range of important topics such as business ethics and global markets through a range of interactive lectures, discussions and case studies.
Explore what makes marketing strategies effective by investigating the role of innovation in business success. Participate in hands-on workshops looking at market research, branding, product management and digital marketing.
Delve into financial aspects essential for business management, including budgeting, financial statements, investments and risk management. You will analyse real-world financial reports and simulate financial planning exercises.
Over the two-week programme, you will participate in two Time To Shine Projects.
Week One: Business Plan and Startup Challenge
In the first week’s “Time to Shine” project, students will participate in a Business Plan and Startup Challenge. They will work in teams to develop a comprehensive business plan for a startup idea of their choice. Students will research market trends, define their target audience, create financial projections, and outline marketing strategies. They will then pitch their business plans to a panel of judges, showcasing their entrepreneurial skills and innovation. This project not only nurtures entrepreneurial spirit but also hones business acumen, teamwork, and presentation abilities.
Week Two: Innovation and Marketing Expo
In the second week’s “Time to Shine” project, students will organise an Innovation and Marketing Expo. Each team will select a product or service, analyze market demand, and develop innovative marketing campaigns to promote their chosen offering. Students will create eye-catching exhibits and interactive presentations for the expo, allowing them to showcase their marketing strategies and innovative ideas to the school community. This project emphasizes market research, marketing skills, and an understanding of how innovation and marketing drive success in the business world.
Develop your public speaking skills. Share your passion. Inspire your classmates.
Today, giving great presentations are a vital skill for achieving academic and professional success. Our programmes reflect this by having the ‘art of presenting’ at the heart of their content, and allow you to discover new confidence when using English in public situations.
It’s more than just a chance to enhance your public speaking skills, though; it’s an opportunity for you to share your passion and subject knowledge with your fellow classmates. Through your presentations, you will become sources of inspiration, and encourage others to delve deeper into your subject.
Dive deeper into your field beyond the classroom
Enhance your academic foundation with our comprehensive Industry Experience sessions. These sessions are both on-site, in which you will participate in workshops that are led by an industry professional and blend practical engagement with immersive learning, and off-site, in which students engage in excursions that complement your course content and will broaden your horizons.
While theoretical knowledge lays an important foundation in business, hands-on experience cements learning. That’s why, at SBC, our students participate in interactive workshops with industry experts. They delve into topics such as brand development, strategic planning, and effective pitching, ensuring a well-rounded approach to their business education.
In previous Industry Experiences, students visited companies and took part in workshops that focused on building brand identities, marketing clothing companies, designing a roadmap for a start up, and honing their pitching skills.
Leaders of today inspiring the Leaders of tomorrow
Every Wednesday morning, students can interact with leading professionals and academics. These sessions offer insightful discussions, expert views, and Q&A sessions that promote intellectual growth.
In our programmes at SBC’s Oxford and Cambridge colleges, students dive into enlightening sessions with respected university lecturers and successful business entrepreneurs. Additionally, we touch upon emerging sectors, such as fintech, offering insights into the future avenues of business.
Stand out and shine
Whether you’re looking to apply for a UK university or just keen to make sure your university application is as strong as possible, our academic coaching sessions aim to ensure you stand apart from your peers. These workshops will not just focus on writing personal statements and preparing for university, but also help you to develop your public speaking skills, an integral skill for university courses.

For this course, participants should have a level of B2 to gain the maximum benefits of the course. Students are given an SBC notepad and folder, but should bring their own pens.
