Architecture
Cambridge College | Ages 15 - 17
Interested in building an exciting future as an architect?
Our two-week programme is designed for students looking for an engaging introduction to the study of Architecture, which will help lay the foundations for an exciting future career in the industry. Develop your understanding of architecture as a collaborative practice by taking part in our Time to Shine group projects. Here you’ll utilise the subject knowledge studied on the course whilst working closely with your classmates to deliver thought-provoking presentations of your own. From being inspired by the architecture of the past to designing blueprints of the future, our Cambridge College Architecture course is designed to help best prepare you for the challenges ahead.
Take part in our exciting Future People Time to Shine project, in which you and your classmates will produce an architectural design for the house of the future.
Cambridge is a city rich in architectural history. In our Industry Experience, a professional architect will join the students to analyse the architectural importance of key historic buildings in this famous university city, before delivering a masterclass in architectural design.
At the end of each week, the whole school comes together to take part in a presentation project we call Time to Shine. These projects are a highlight of the week’s work and give students an opportunity to showcase their learning and development. Providing them with the chance to gain valuable experience in practising their collaboration and presentation skills in front of a larger audience.
Time to Shine Project: Architecture and the Design of Future Spaces
In the house of the future, what will you find? In what ways will smart technology integrate us with household technologies? How will the house of the future preserve energy, and be carbon-free? In Cambridge College’s Future People Time to Shine project, our architecture students will design the house of the future, incorporating theories of architectural design which focus on sustainability, technology, and empowerment.
