English and Activity Day Camps
Ages 6 - 12
Our English Day Camps for international students aged 6-12 take place at some of the UK’s best independent schools. The summer camps are delivered in partnership with Ultimate Activity Camps and combine an action-packed activity programme with English tuition. The courses are designed to integrate international students with local English children, enabling them to participate in activities together, sharing their love for sport, art, and adventure. Please find information on how to make a booking below (this will direct you to book with Ultimate English, our partners).
It is my fourth year here, it is a great camp because you can meet people from all over the world and have a great chance to learn English here with people – English teachers, activity people, it’s very great!
Each week, students will have 10 lessons that are 50 minutes long, either in the morning or afternoon, with a qualified EFL teacher. Students are split into different ability levels, ranging from elementary to advanced. Classes have a maximum of 12 students and are often even smaller groups with a diversity of nationalities. Teachers are prepared to adapt every class to the needs of their students, including having different tasks to meet the range of abilities within a class. After they’ve finished their class students will return to the activity programme alongside the local English-speaking children.
Upon completion of the programme, students receive a certificate in celebration of their hard work on the course.
Every week, children will enjoy an exciting and unrivalled programme of activities. With over 40 different activities on offer, the programme has something for everyone, from art and creative sessions, to sport and adventure. Children join groups with local British children, who are of a similar age.
Examples include: Archery (8 years +), Basketball, Cookery, Drama, Football, Fencing (6 years +), Pedal Karts (6 years +), Kwik Cricket, Netball, Roller Racers, Swimming, Trampolining, Tennis, Outdoor Art, Ultimate Inflatables, Pop Art Masterclass, Zorbing (8 years +), Mini Olympics and so much more!

When taking part in activities, children are grouped by age to ensure they get the appropriate level of care and do activities appropriate to their age.
With an exciting mix of games, sports and art activities, every day is structured to give children the chance to do lots of different activities with new friends. The timetable is packed allowing children to burn off some of their boundless energy!
Once children reach the age of 8, additional activities such as archery and zorbing are available. . We also get all children in this age group together for our popular ‘Big Game’ sessions.
Whether it’s zorbing and fencing, or swimming and archery, day camps offer awesome activities for 10-14 year olds to try. Team work and socialising is also an important factor to this age group, so our ‘Wide Game’ sessions bring all the children together where they can mix and enjoy larger team building activities.
Our camps are convenient for parents no matter what your plans are whilst in the UK. They are open Monday to Friday with activities from 09:30 to 16:30, however international bookings allow parents to drop off early from 08:00 and collect until 18:00 at no extra cost.
Our courses offer a great mixture of English language lessons and activities with local English-speaking children. Children have a range of over 40 activities to choose from including art, sport, and adventure.
Activities available depend on specific location facilities. For more information about what is available at each school email info@summerboardingcourses.co.uk
Children attending our day camps will need to bring a packed lunch and drink bottle each day. Please be aware that other children attending our day camps may have nut allergies – please avoid bringing nuts and nut products in your child’s packed lunch.
We do not offer transfers for our Day Camps, as they are non-residential, and children are usually travelling with their parents. However, if you require any assistance at all with locating a suitable train/coach/taxi to get you from the airport to your chosen accommodation, we would be happy to support in finding you the best solution.
Our camps are non-residential (i.e. no accommodation) therefore you would be required to drop your child off in the morning and collect in the evening.
If you require accommodation nearby we would recommend visiting booking.com or airbnb.com using the following postcodes:
All our residential courses can be offered without overnight accommodation, i.e. ‘non-residential’. This means that you can choose to drop-off and collect your child each day of the course, rather than sleeping at the school. This is ideal for those that wish to stay with their children overnight, or for those that live locally. The programme for non-residential students starts at approximately 08:30 and includes lessons and activities, with the children finishing after the evening activity around 20:00.
Your child will still benefit from the same fantastic academic and social opportunities that our summer courses have to offer!
