Course Objectives
Over the course of this two-week programme, you will:
- Develop an understanding of the major fields of study within the scope of psychology
- Learn about how psychology is used in a variety of fields, such as sociology, marketing and healthcare
- Develop a theoretical and practical understanding of the techniques used in clinical psychology
- Take part in an exciting Time To Shine project, and produce a series of behavioural experiments to discover how the mind can be affected by subconscious factors
- Develop and apply core 21st century skills through fun and engaging lessons, including critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration

15 Hours of Academic Content Per Week
Students receive 15 hours of subject-specific academic content per week with an experienced subject tutor, delivered through interactive and hands-on lessons

Opportunities to apply and share this knowledge through dynamic ‘Time To Shine’ group projects, culminating in an end-of-the-week ceremony in which you can present your innovative ideas to your peers

How challenging is the Foundation in Psychology and Human Behaviour course?
The course will challenge students, however our teachers are most capable of teaching mixed ability classes. Depending on the group’s competency with English and ability to absorb new material, our teachers can adapt according to the needs of the students.
What level of English is required to take part in Foundation in Psychology and Human Behaviour at Eton?
For this course, participants must have a level of at least B1.
Do students receive a certificate?
Yes. Each student who completes Foundation in Psychology and Human Behaviour receives a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
Do students need to buy coursebooks?
A variety of SBC handouts are given to students, all of which were created by our own academic team.
What do students need to take to class?
Students should have their own pens, and are provided with notebooks and folders.
Is there any reading required to take part in the programme?
It is not necessary to read anything beforehand in order to participate fully in the programme, however it is always helpful for students to continue improving their English if they feel it would help them.
