Shaping the Leaders of Tomorrow
The Faculty of Global Leadership introduces you to the challenges and responsibilities of leading in an interconnected world. Across two weeks you’ll explore international relations, global economics and leadership theory while developing the practical skills to apply them.

The course covers diplomacy, policy and cross-cultural communication, giving you an understanding of how global systems work and how leaders shape them. Case studies and strategy exercises help you examine complex issues and practise making decisions with international consequences.
Learning is active. You’ll take part in model United Nations sessions, negotiation exercises and leadership workshops that recreate real-world scenarios. These experiences build confidence in speaking, persuading and guiding diverse groups under pressure.
Working with peers from around the world is central. You’ll share perspectives, compare experiences and collaborate on solutions, building cultural awareness alongside leadership skills.
Studying at the Faculty of Global Leadership prepares you for roles where international understanding matters. Whether in government, international organisations or business, the programme equips you with the insight and skills to operate confidently on a global stage.

Course Modules & Objectives
By the end of this course, you will have a deep understanding of political systems, international relations theories, and economic principles. You will develop the analytical skills necessary to evaluate global issues, craft policy recommendations, and lead effectively in diverse environments. This course is ideal for students interested in pursuing careers in politics, diplomacy, international organisations, or leadership roles in any field.
Module 1: Foundations of Political Theory and Governance
This module provides an introduction to the key concepts and ideologies in political theory. You will explore various forms of government, the role of institutions, and the impact of political ideologies on policy-making. Through case studies and group discussions, you will analyse the strengths and weaknesses of different political systems and their implications for governance.
Module 2: International Relations and Global Diplomacy
Delve into the world of international relations with a focus on diplomacy and global conflict resolution. This module covers the major theories of international relations, the role of international organisations, and the dynamics of global power. Time to Shine gives every student the chance to practise public speaking in a structured setting. By researching, preparing and delivering a project to an audience, you build confidence in expressing ideas clearly and develop the ability to present with authority. It’s an opportunity to refine communication skills that are valuable for academic study, professional life and beyond.
For your Time to Shine project, you will take on a global challenge and present a strategy for addressing it. This project draws together your knowledge of international relations, policy and leadership, while giving you the chance to speak with authority on issues that matter.

Is Faculty of Global Leadership at Oxford College a challenging programme?
