SUMMER BOARDING COURSES
Welcome to Camp Headington: The Adventure Begins
The first couple of days at Camp Headington have been filled with colour, laughter and plenty of new friendships. As our young learners arrived on campus, the excitement was clear – and even a little rain couldn’t dampen the energy.
In the classrooms, the focus was on getting to know each other and building confidence through games designed to get everyone speaking in English. From the very start, the students threw themselves into the fun, working closely with their teachers and classmates and showing great enthusiasm for trying something new.
Rain meant the fields stayed quiet, but indoor Activities kept everyone happily busy. There was lego building, friendship bracelet making, and beautiful stained glass windows coming to life in the art room. Hands stayed busy and imaginations even more so.
One of the standout moments was our first Friendship Fiesta. In small groups, students created their own magical monsters and mascots using recyclable materials, writing backstories for their creatures and sharing their designs with everyone. It was brilliant to see how naturally the children collaborated, with lots of encouragement, laughter and a few very imaginative monsters along the way.
Throughout the day, playtime has been just as important as lessons, and there’s been plenty of it. Whether chatting in small groups, drawing together or playing indoor games, the campus has had a lovely buzz of young voices getting to know each other.
It’s been a warm and cheerful start to the summer, full of curiosity and kindness. We’re looking forward to everything still to come.
