SUMMER BOARDING COURSES
Laughter, Team Spirit and Sunny Days at Eton
With the week well underway here at Eton College, the energy across campus has settled into a lively and positive rhythm. Students are forming strong friendships that extend beyond nationalities, with many mixing confidently and stepping out of their comfort zones to engage with others from around the world. This openness has created a warm and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
The weather has been playing its part too, bringing bright skies and gentle sunshine that have encouraged outdoor activities and plenty of time spent enjoying the grounds. Students have been making the most of it, whether that’s during sport, lessons, or simply relaxing together between sessions.
There’s a noticeable confidence growing in the students as they get more comfortable with the rhythm of campus life. They’re engaged and cooperative, responding well to guidance and genuinely enjoying their time here. Whether in classes or during free time, the atmosphere has been easygoing and sociable, underpinned by a strong sense of mutual respect.
This week has been especially active on the wellbeing and social front. Students had the chance to take part in cricket, swimming, and water polo — three sports that sparked lots of energy and team spirit. Cricket in particular brought many students together for their first ever match, where encouragement and laughter ran alongside the games. Water polo and swimming offered a refreshing change of pace, with students supporting each other in and out of the pool.
The highlight of the evening came with a playful take on the Olympic Games. Far from serious competition, this event was all about fun, movement and teamwork. Students cheered each other on through a variety of light-hearted challenges, ending the day on a high note with smiles all round.
The whole group is shaping up to be a fantastic cohort — they’re respectful, open, and full of enthusiasm. With a few days still ahead before the weekend, we’re looking forward to seeing how their friendships deepen and their confidence continues to grow.
It’s been a brilliant few days here, and the atmosphere across campus reflects the heart of what makes SBC special: young people coming together from all over the world to learn, share and make lasting memories in a setting that feels both exciting and safe.
