Big Views and Bright Days at Earlscliffe

It’s been a joyful and active few days here at Earlscliffe, with students embracing both academic focus and plenty of time outdoors as the beautiful weather continues to brighten the campus. With sunshine overhead and warm days ahead, the atmosphere has felt particularly cheerful and relaxed, making the most of the summer spirit that defines life at SBC.

Academically, the focus has been on collaborative effort and presentation skills, with students working hard on group projects that culminated in a series of engaging presentations. There was a real sense of pride in the work produced, and staff were impressed with the effort and creativity shown across the board. These presentations not only allowed students to share ideas, but also gave them a chance to build confidence in a supportive setting.

Outside of the classroom, the evenings have been just as eventful. With the beach just a short walk away, students have been enjoying time by the sea, playing games and winding down together in the late summer sun. One evening saw a spirited round of “Minute to Win It” games in the garden, where laughter filled the air and students from across the globe came together for some friendly competition.

The highlight of the past few days, though, was undoubtedly the trip to London. For many, it was their first time seeing the city’s world-famous landmarks, and it made a lasting impression. Students visited Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, before enjoying stunning views from the London Eye. The day ended with some well-earned free time for shopping – a chance to pick up souvenirs and enjoy the buzz of the capital. The trip was a brilliant blend of sightseeing and socialising, and it’s been a favourite topic of conversation ever since.

With temperatures expected to rise even further in the coming days, students and staff are looking forward to continuing to enjoy the sunshine while staying well-hydrated and sun-safe. The past few days have brought a great balance of learning, exploration, and relaxation – and with the energy on campus still high, there’s a real sense that even more memorable moments are just around the corner.
