In this foundational module, students will dive headfirst into the world of programming. They will learn the fundamental concepts of coding and gain proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, HTML, and CSS. Through hands-on exercises and guided projects, students will develop their coding skills, and understanding of how to write, debug, and optimize code. By the end of this module, they will have a strong grasp of the building blocks of computer programming, setting the stage for more advanced coding challenges ahead.
Module 2 focuses on honing problem-solving abilities and project development. Students will tackle real-world coding challenges, applying the problem-solving techniques they’ve learned. They will work collaboratively with peers to design and develop interactive websites, games, and other digital projects. Throughout this module, students will refine their coding skills while gaining valuable experience in project management, teamwork, and effective communication.
In this forward-thinking module, students will explore emerging technologies that are shaping the future of computer science. They will delve into fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and app development. Through hands-on exploration and experimentation, students will gain insights into how these technologies are revolutionizing industries and driving innovation. They will have the opportunity to create their own AI-powered projects and delve into the world of app development. By the end of this module, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to harness the power of these transformative technologies.

Today, giving great presentations are a vital skill for achieving academic and professional success. Our programmes reflect this by having the ‘art of presenting’ at the heart of their content, and allow you to discover new confidence when using English in public situations.
It’s more than just a chance to enhance your public speaking skills, though; it’s an opportunity for you to share your passion and subject knowledge with your fellow classmates. Through your presentations, you will become sources of inspiration, and encourage others to delve deeper into your subject.
Over the two-week programme, you will participate in two Time To Shine Projects.
Week One: Hackathon and Coding Challenge
In the first week’s “Time to Shine” project, students will participate in a Hackathon and Coding Challenge. They will form teams and embark on a coding competition where they’ll be tasked with solving real-world problems using their programming skills. Students will develop innovative software solutions, whether it’s designing a game, creating a web app, or automating a task. They will present their projects and compete for awards based on creativity, functionality, and efficiency. This project not only enhances coding proficiency but also fosters teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity in the realm of computer science.
Week Two: Tech Innovation Expo
In the second week’s “Time to Shine” project, students will organize a Tech Innovation Expo. Each team will select an emerging technology or tech-related innovation, such as virtual reality, cybersecurity, or mobile app development, and create informative exhibits and demonstrations. The expo will be open to the school community, allowing students to showcase their chosen tech innovations and provide insights into how these technologies are shaping the future. This project encourages research, presentation skills, and a deeper understanding of the dynamic world of technology and computer science.
Enhance your academic foundation with our comprehensive Industry Experience sessions. These sessions are both on-site, in which you will participate in workshops that are led by an industry professional and blend practical engagement with immersive learning, and off-site, in which students engage in excursions that complement your course content and will broaden your horizons. Students will have the opportunity to visit some of Oxford’s renowned scientific institutions, gaining firsthand experience with cutting-edge projects and interactions with leading experts in the field.
Every Wednesday morning, students can interact with leading professionals and academics. These sessions offer insightful discussions, expert views, and Q&A sessions that promote intellectual growth.
Witness engaging talks on emerging technologies, career pathways in the tech industry, real-world applications of theoretical concepts, and the ethical implications of advancing technologies.
