At the end of each week the school comes together and classes take part in a group presentation we call Time to Shine. These projects are a highlight of the week’s work and provide students with an opportunity to showcase their learning and development during the summer programme. By taking part in Time to Shine students gain valuable experience in practising their collaboration and presentation skills in front of a larger audience.
Time to Shine Project: Your Campaign for Nomination to the Student Council
How do politicians win elections? What are the principles which underpin a powerful election campaign? In this 10-hour project, Introduction to Politics & Economics students will develop a campaign for their team’s inclusion on the SBC International Student Council at Eton, to be voted for by their fellow SBC at Eton students.

The course will challenge students, however our teachers are most capable of teaching mixed ability classes. Depending on the group’s competency with English and ability to absorb new material, our teachers can adapt according to the needs of the students.
For this course, participants must have a level of at least B1.
Yes. Each student who completes Politics & Economics receives a certificate of completion during our graduation ceremony at the end of the course.
A variety of SBC handouts are given to students, all of which were created by our own academic team.
Students should have their own pens, and are provided with notebooks and folders.
It is not necessary to read anything beforehand in order to participate fully in the programme, however it is always helpful for students to continue improving their English if they feel it would help them.
The quality of teachers, staff, academic program, social environment combined with an opportunity to be independent, all at a college of great repute made these two weeks a fantastic experience for our teenage daughter! We would highly recommend it
